Training for older & bigger people..

    in Training

    Hey guys!

So ive managed to motivate my mum, my aunties & a few of my cousins to go to the park on thursday nights to get them moving!

Now they are ALL over weigh & 40+ with NO real exercise in their life (apart from their jobs/walking their dogs..)

Last week was the first week & we did a little curcuit of walking lunges, squats, cleans (touching toes & reaching for the sky), hurdles & a 20 minute walk to cool down & take to workout to an hours long..

It all went great! today were doing a curcuit for the whole body.. ive had more time to think this week & decided getting their whole body moving is better than targetting one area..

    ive planned..

Moutain climbers (hands on a bench)

    High knees

    Boxing (the air)

    Dips (on a bench)

    Hip Thursts

    Cleans

    Plank..

Going to do 30 seconds on with 15 seconds rest inbetween exercises..

and a walk to finish with..

Now im not really fussing too much on the form they use.. its hard to see through the flab!😂 but i do tell them straight backs, dont do anything if its painful etc etc.. should i be more focused on their form? or not as at the minute i just want them moving!

Theyre also all doing slimming world & weigh in on thursday mornings but the weight has started to slow with them getting used of what they're eating/them getting bored of it..

Do you guys have any other exercises that are good for total body & for older bigger beginners? that doesnt require any equipment? Also any tips or anything?

Thanks, will keep you posted on how they all get on!

Well done for getting them moving, Id say telling them to keep a straight back is good enough to avoid stressing them out and you could make 2-3 different routines that should keep things interesting and make sure they are actually eating in a decent caloric deficit with maybe a pre bed snack they like :)
