I've been really struggling this week. I am dying to get into a gaining phase and see numbers progress. Feel like im spinning my wheels now.
My big question is when is the right time to 'bulk' 'gain' 'mass', i don't know what to do and need some advice. Why get really lean to just bulk again i guess?
Thanks guys,
Connor
Hey buddy!
I'd continue to gain in this situation, I'd say looking at monthly averages will be key for you.
Aim for around 2 lbs per month ON AVERAGE and that will see you gaining nicely, push up food when you can, but don't make drastic changes, you've got room to fill and this rate of gain will be fast enough to warrant that, you'll probably get another 2 - 3 months of this without needing to mini cut, but you can always check back in with us and I'll always tell you when you need to pull back :)
youve got some solid muscle mass there man !
Id say your around 17-18% atm, id say keep cutting atm, in the training thread you said lifts are progressing still so theres gains still being made :)
Hey guys pics taken now after most of meals today and excuse posing skills as there are none so far. 6 foot 5 string bean comes to mind. 🙃
UPLOAD a pic dude :) Then we can give accurate opinions.
a solution would be to upload a physique pic in the forum and have a second opinion
Yeah not new to training as such just never dieted down to gain. I don't have a clue on my body fat. think thats the problem
Imo, you dont need to be silly shredded to start a bulk, anywhere between 10-15% is fine just dont bulk to over 20%. I started around 13% if that helps. also starting leaner allows a longer gaining phase before cutting again or needing a minicut. hope that helps
There are multiple benefits to be lean first i.e. being more insulin-sensitive, having a better potentional to gain lean body mass aka muscle and in general not getting too fat in a gaining phase because you can't gain muscle without fat gain.
Maybe you should focus more on the progression in the gym and eat for performance rather than straight cutting or bulking when you're just starting to train :)
